Acts of Kindness

Walk with the first friends of Jesus.

BibleTown is a cozy 3D adventure through the Acts of the Apostles. Children meet Peter, John, Mary and the first Christians, who were real people, and help them live the way Jesus taught: inviting a friend to pray, finding what was lost, sharing what they have. Every one of those is something a child can do tomorrow.

A town full of friends to help

Each chapter is a story from Acts, told through small jobs a child can do. Between them, Jerusalem is theirs to wander.

A girl in a light blue dress stands with Peter in the paved market square, beside the well and the market stalls. The goals panel lists finding Peter, inviting Thomas, Matthew and Mary to pray, and bringing two fish to Andrew.

Find Peter at the well

The story starts in the market square, a few days after Jesus was taken up into heaven. Peter waves you over: Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit, and while they wait, they pray. He gives you his old fishing rod and a job to do.

Mary, in a blue mantle over a cream dress, talks with the girl in a green field. Mary says: Will you carry my lily? We'll set it by the window where we pray.

Invite friends to pray

Thomas left his walking staff in the sheep pasture. Matthew won't come until you answer his riddle. Mary, the mother of Jesus, asks you to carry her lily to the Upper Room. Every friend you meet introduces themselves and tells a little of their story with Jesus.

The girl fishes at the Pool of Siloam beside Andrew, with a wooden boat on the water. A bubble says: You caught a Sardine!

Go fishing for Andrew

Andrew needs two fish for supper. Face the water at the Pool of Siloam, wait for the bobber to dip, then reel in quickly. Every new kind of fish comes with a fact about it, like the little sardines from the day Jesus fed five thousand people.

The Build Your Character screen: a girl with long dark hair in a light blue dress beside choices of hair style, skin tone and hair color.

Pick a boy or a girl, then hair, skin tone, eyes and clothes, and choose a name or have a grown-up type one. On iPhone and iPad, up to eight children can each have their own player, with their own progress.

Chapter 1 ends at Pentecost

When everyone is ready, James opens the door of the Upper Room. Mary sets her lily by the window, and the friends of Jesus pray together, day after day. Then a sound like a mighty wind fills the house, and little flames rest on each of them, just as Acts 2 tells it.

Mary, the apostles and the girl gather outside the door of the Upper Room, a tall white house with stairs.
Everyone gathers at the Upper Room.
Inside the Upper Room, Mary, the apostles and the girl stand in a circle with small flames above their heads. The narrator says: The Holy Spirit came, just as Jesus promised!

Explore Jerusalem any time

Outside the chapters, the town is open: fish at the Pool of Siloam, shop at the market stalls, pet the sheep and visit friends. Acts of Kindness is free, and stays free.

Grow the Fruits of the Spirit

The game is built around the twelve Fruits of the Holy Spirit, as the Catechism lists them (CCC 1832). Finishing Chapter 1 earns Faithfulness, for waiting and praying with Mary, and waiting patiently for a fish to bite shows Patience. Each Fruit grows on your own tree at home as a real fruit: a pomegranate, grapes, olives, dates, figs and more.

A Congratulations, Chapter 1 Complete card: Faithfulness, drawn as an apple. You showed faithfulness when you waited and prayed with Mary. Your friends gave you 20 coins. Talk about it: ask if you can lead the prayer before dinner tonight, like Peter led Jesus' friends.
Every chapter ends with something to try at home.
A storybook page, Chapter 1: Waiting for the Promise, Acts 1:9-11, with a picture of Jesus rising into heaven on a cloud while Mary and the apostles look up: Jesus had risen from the dead! For forty days He visited His friends. Then, on the Mount of Olives, He was taken up into heaven, right before their eyes.

Made for children who can't read yet

Every character speaks their lines out loud, so younger children can follow the whole story by listening.

  • A narrator reads every storybook page and tells you each new goal.
  • Choices are read aloud before you pick, and every line has a speaker button to hear it again.
  • Stuck? The pray-for-help button says a short prayer, then a soft light shows where to go.
  • Tap where you want to walk, or use the joystick and one big hand button.

Catholic, and faithful to Scripture

All these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus…

Acts 1:14

BibleTown is written from a Catholic point of view. The story follows Acts closely, and Scripture is quoted from the Revised Standard Version, Second Catholic Edition (RSV-2CE).

True to first-century Jerusalem

The first believers were Jewish men and women, and the game shows them that way: keeping the feasts, praying at the Temple and breaking bread together. Inside the story, people only say and do what fits their own time.

Connected to the Church today

After each chapter, a saint card shows where the story's people are now, friends in heaven who still pray for us, and the family prays together, line by line. Story Time in the Journal has deeper pages to read with a grown-up, like the first novena and Mary, Mother of the Church, each with a Catechism reference.

A Friends in Heaven card for Saint Peter: Long after this story, Peter went to be with Jesus in heaven. His feast day is June twenty-ninth, together with Saint Paul. Jesus called him the Rock, and gave him the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Saint Peter, pray for us!
Saint Peter, pray for us!
A Pray together card, say each line after me: In the name of the Father. Come, Holy Spirit, fill our hearts. Make us brave and kind, like Jesus. Help our family pray together, like Mary and the apostles did. Mary, our Mother, pray with us.
Praying together, one line at a time.

For parents

It's a simple game, but the life in it is real. Doing good, trusting God, and knowing that Peter, Mary, Stephen and Rhoda were real people, saints who pray for us still. We hope it sets your children on fire with love for Jesus, and moves the grown-ups who play alongside them too.
